Clicking Like under a comment lets you show that you like or agree with it. You can also like comments to show that you have read them.
In addition to comments, you can also like posts on People pages and in threads.

When you click Like on a comment, the user who posted the comment will receive a notification. However, they will not receive a notification via email.

The Like button is displayed directly under comments and posts, as shown below.
