This article describes how to set system-wide permissions for kintone on the Permission management screen in kintone administration.

You can set permissions for managing kintone system-wide, managing and creating apps, managing app groups, and creating spaces and guest spaces.

Setting permissions in kintone administration

By default, the Permission management screen includes a permission set for "Everyone" (all users).
To set individual permissions for users, departments, or groups, add permission set above the permission set for "Everyone".

Steps

  1. Navigate to the kintone administration screen.

  2. Click Permission management.

  3. To add a permission set, click Add. In the User, department, or group column of the added permission set, select a user, department, or group for which you want to set permissions.

  4. To apply the same permissions to users in affiliated departments or groups, select the Apply to affiliated departments checkbox in the Permissions inheritance column.

  5. Set whether or not to allow each permission.

    • To allow access, select the Allow checkbox.
    • To deny access, deselect the Allow checkbox.
  6. To change the priority for permission sets, drag the Drag to reorder icon in the Priority column.

  7. Click Save on the upper left side of the screen.

Example settings

This section provides examples of how to configure the settings on the Permission management screen in kintone administration.
When there are multiple permission sets, permission sets that are listed higher are given priority over lower permission sets. Arrange the permission sets in the order in which you want to give them precedence.

Example 1: Configuring who can manage kintone system-wide

If you want to allow only certain users to manage kintone system-wide

Add a permission set above the one for Everyone and configure it as follows.

  • Specified users, departments, or groups

    • Select the Allow checkbox for System administration
  • Everyone

    • Clear the Allow checkbox for System administration

To allow all users except for certain users to manage kintone system-wide

Add a permission set above the one for Everyone and configure it as follows.

  • Specified users, departments, or groups

    • Clear the Allow checkbox for System administration
  • Everyone

    • Select the Allow checkbox for System administration

Example 2: Configuring who can manage apps

To allow only certain users to create or manage apps

Add a permission set above the one for Everyone and configure it as follows.

  • Specified users, departments, or groups
    • Select the Allow checkbox for Create apps
    • Select the Allow checkbox for Manage apps
  • Everyone
    • Clear the Allow checkbox for Create apps
    • Clear the Allow checkbox for Manage apps
