Login Security Settings Applied to Guest Users

Only some of the settings configured on the Login Security screen in Users & system administration apply to guest accounts.

Settings applied to guest accounts

The following settings are applied to guest accounts in addition to regular user accounts.

Password Policy

  • Minimum Number of Characters for the User Password
  • Password Complexity
  • Login Name as Password
  • Password expiration
  • Password Reuse Limit

Login Session

  • Session expiration time

Settings not applied to guest accounts

The following settings are not applied to guest accounts.

SAML Authentication

Only regular user accounts can access cybozu.com using single sign-on with SAML authentication.

Two-Factor Authentication

Guest accounts cannot use two-factor authentication.

Password Policy

The following settings are not applied to guest accounts.

  • Self-service Change
    Guest users can change their password even if this setting is not enabled.
  • Force Password Change
    Even if this setting is enabled, guest users will not be asked to change their password the next time they log in.
  • Self-service Reset
    Guest users can reset their password even if this setting is not enabled.

Account Lockout

Guest users will not be locked out of their account even if they exceed the number of failed login attempts allowed.

Additional Message on Login Failure

Even if a message is set, it will not be displayed when a guest user fails to login.

Streamline Login Process

The Streamline Login Process settings are not applied to guest accounts.

Authentication when using API

This setting is not applied to guest accounts because they cannot use Client Certificate Authentication.
